Mission:

Grounded in the works of Shakespeare, we enrich our community by presenting accessible, professional theatre experiences that educate, inspire and entertain people of all ages.

About Us:

Kentucky Shakespeare, designated the Official Shakespeare Company of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a non-profit, professional theatre company founded in 1949 as the Carriage House Players and incorporated in 1963.  Kentucky Shakespeare's first full season of free Shakespeare in Central Park was in the summer of 1961.

Kentucky Shakespeare is the largest in-school arts education provider in the Commonwealth serving students ages 4-18 with our touring programs throughout the year.

In the summer, Kentucky Shakespeare produces the oldest free Shakespeare festival in the United States.
