Experience the celebration of independent films from around the world at the 11th Annual South Carolina Underground Film Festival, where all genres of films have been welcomed with open arms since 2015.​

​Get ready for three action-packed days of indie films at SCUFF as fans and filmmakers come together to celebrate obscure and independent cinema.

10:00 AM - Feature Film
 
Tonight and Maybe Tomorrow (78 mins/SC) - SOUTH CAROLINA PREMIERE - A party at the end of the world reunites two acquaintances. Taking the chance to finally have their first date, they and the rest of the party process their fears, regrets, and futures. Directed by Michael Smallwood.

12:00 PM – So Animated: Animation Shorts Block
 
Bwinky’s Little Big World of Love (3 mins/NC) - Bwinky happens upon earth and while exploring he comes across a cow. As their connection grows we get a look into her impending fate of which she is resigned to. Bwinky attempts to save her, and with some alien magic and love they launch into space and newfound freedom. Directed by Stacia Black

​FR<-O-+GGY STYLE (5 mins/OH) - Two frogs engage in a mating ritual, but they discover that their spawn may be more gender amphibious than they demand. Directed by Jonathan Riles

​Marginalia (3 mins/SC) - When a young monk gets creative in the scriptorium, things take an unexpected turn as his doodles come to life! Directed by Alex Gentemann

​Bark (17 mins/CA): - He stole her heart. She stole his dog. After a breakup, an obsessive woman steals her ex’s dog in a desperate attempt to reconnect. Bark twists love, revenge, and grief into a visually striking exploration of emotional chaos. Directed by Searit Kahsay Huluf

In Half (24 mins/Spain) - Through a child's imagination it tells the journey of a man who after falling prey to his fears, he must cross a strange world, a universe full of magic, where he will be confronted with his own fears and conflicts from the past and where he must find solutions for the future to discover his self-identity. Directed by Jorge Morais Valle

​Illuminatus! (10 mins/IL) - A young reporter is recruited by a mad genius and his anarchist followers aboard a giant yellow submarine headed to the lost city of Atlantis. The crew plans to thwart an Illuminati conspiracy that runs absurdly deep. Based on the acid-tinged book trilogy by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson. Directed by Chris Kalis

Freak Bikes (78 mins/CA) - EAST COAST PREMIERE - L.A. bicycle activist Jimmy Lizama travels to bike-friendly cities with his 12-year-old son, hoping to inspire him to imagine cities without cars. Directed by Ryan Mekenian

4:00 PM - Documentary Shorts Block

​The Endless Wave (5 mins/SC) - Professional wake surfer Evan Feierabend takes us through different aspects of the sport, exploring the craft and what it's like to compete. Directed by Anil Dhokai
 
Unlikely Mermaid (18 mins/FL) - Two Mermaid wannabes, Peggy and Lorraine, audition to be performers at Weeki Wachee, the Florida roadside tourist attraction that is older than Disney World. It’s never too late to dream or drown trying. Directed by Lorraine Portman

Once Upon A Wetland (16 mins/NC) - As restrictions tighten across the country, Durham, North Carolina preps for the annual Beaver Queen Pageant a campy, un-beaver-lievable celebration of LGBTQIA activism, environmental conservation, and outrageous critter cosplay. Directed by Elizabeth Miller-Derstine

F-A-K-E (23 mins/Ohio) -A lone man travels to universities bearing a message that the moon landings were staged and warning that the earth is not what it seems. Directed by Stephen Crompton

The Misadventures of Vince & Hick (108 mins/CA) - SOUTH CAROLINA PREMIERE - A live action comic book crime odyssey that tells the Legend of your two new favorite bandits, Vince & Hick.
