The best music is live music. The amphitheater lights up every year with impressive acts to go along with the amazing beer and the incredible foods that all come together to create the DBF experience.
The Routine
The Routine is a favorite at Motley Brews and returns again as the amazing four-piece Funk-Rock band that exploded onto the West-Coast music scene in 2013. Rooted in San Diego, California, they pack funk, rock, soul, afro-beat, and psychedelia into an infectious groove that always brings the heat to the dance floor. Since inception, they have taken their memorable live performance across the western United States and established themselves as one of So-cal’s must-see acts. In 2018 The Routine released “Puddin’”, their debut full-length album. With the dynamic range running everything from rocking highs, haunting dirges, soulful chants, and experimental surges, “Puddin’” establishes the bands unique sound and creative potential.
DJ Neek
Neek’s uncle’s and grandfather had him singing scales by the age of 5. They would play records in the house all while Neek was growing up. They put him up on game. They’d say, “You hear him singing there? That’s Stevie Wonder.” Or, “You hear that bass solo? That’s Bootsy Collins.” And young Neek would sit there, soaking it up. His talented family and unique upbringing helped him craft a passion, understanding and working knowledge of musicians and the music industry.
Neek is a break dancer in Las Vegas and has competed all over the country. He started as a young teenager back in 2002, which is ultimately how he came into DJing. Circle of life.
He’s also the founder of Paradise Fever; a party and brand dedicated to the nightlife of the 70’s and 80’s in NYC. Neek’s been digging in the crates, and you can hear the influences in his DJ sets. A touch of Prince here, some Bob Marley there, a sprinkle of Sly Stone; all the while keeping the crowd moving and singing along to their favorite songs.
RetroSonic
Retrosonic is a high energy cover band consisting of six long term Las Vegas locals. Playing well loved Rock & Americana tunes from across the decades. In 2020 while many musicians had more time on their hands than they would prefer, Mike Hall presented Kelly Goodwin with the idea of getting together to jam. After a couple exciting gigs, they knew that this duo could really make some noise if they brought in a couple friends. So they hit up some of Hall’s long time bandmates from the Beatles tribute band, The Fab. Vinnie Castaldo on drums, Dave St John on bass & vocals and Dave King on keys and acoustic guitar.
As this group of talented musicians came together and built an eclectic set list, they were still missing something….A second guitar player!
