Big Bass Fishing Rodeo and Fishtival

City Park Conservancy and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries invite anglers of all ages to the oldest freshwater rodeo in the country! The Big Bass Fishing Rodeo is a catch-and-release fishing tournament for competitors targeting the largest bass. In addition to the competition, guests will enjoy the family-friendly Fishtival complete with exhibitions, raffles and MORE.

In addition to the bank-fishing-only main event, other activities include:

-Battle for the Bass (BFTB) – Student fishing competition grades 7-12
-Boats on the Bayou (BOTB) – Bayou St. John fishing competition for kayakers and other non-motorized vessels
-Cichlid + Bream Trim – Teams of up to five compete for heaviest 15 stringer of bream, cichilds, and perch
-Fishtival – Free festival featuring DJ, food, wildlife exhibits, crafts, games, activities, and new and used fishing gear for sale at great prices
